Since
I choose Art and Design is already 5 year in my life. When I was young, Art and
design for me is just drawing. I really understand what is Art and design is
from Senior 1 in high school. I started know that design isn't drawing but also
need to plan, think, study and more.
Time Flies, the 1st year of my Furniture and product design almost draws to a close. This year is a progress in my life. I had to become more strong and independent to finish all the project. Degree life is totally different with high school life. Project, report and presentation took all my time. So, should I happy for getting through this year? But there is still left two year for me. I will prepare for Year 2 with the mood of anticipation and fear.
At first, I thought Design Studies is a boring subject.
Design Studies = History? No =）
Luckily, I did not get bored in class.
Let me tell you why.
We had a heated debate competition for " Is ornamentation a crime?"
That is 3 friends in a group and antithetical points with another group.
We did a lot of research and found a lot of point.
Although we don't know which group is the winner but we won the progress and we enjoy it.
We had 2 friends in a group for Design Exploration. I did sculpture with lovely Connie. We think about the Contemporary style in this project. We use the knowledge which learn from class. We kept discuss and change our design and material when we was doing this project. I learned to work with others.
For the MIJF Jewellery Competiton, this is my first time design jewellery. It is fun and fresh to me. I love the feeling that I could design the jewellery which the shape I like the most. Although I did get any prize, It still a great experience.
The last project which is Professional Standpoint. We need to do a e-book ourselves. Sound interesting, right? Because it really interesting but also challenging. So, I just can use my broken English to finish my e-book which called <When 'Travel' Meet 'Aesthetic' >. Beside take photo and enjoy those beautiful picture, the essay is really make me crazy but challenging also.
Had fun in Design Studies?
In class, we watched movie!
In class, we drawing pop art!
In class, we were going to Art and Craft Exhibition!
In class, we were going to Petaling Street!
Of course, we still need to...
Write about the movie and answer the questions after watched...
Submit the drawing nicely...
Write about the exhibition and design a new thing about art and craft...
Take a lot of photo for project...
But,
It is just challenging!!!
It is still fun!!!

And also know how to start a design, how to improve my ideas, how to develop my ideas, how to be a good designer...
